Couple Dies in Car Accident During Mission Trip to California

FRESNO, Calif – According to KENS5, a couple were killed in a California car accident while on their mission trip. 

According to authorities, a Ford F250 driver struck a gray Nissan, killing the couple inside. Mary and Paul Hardin, of Helotes, TX, were in California while serving as part of a Mormon Missionary. 

Paul passed away in the hospital as Mary was pronounced dead not long after the crash. 

The driver of the Ford F250, Madera’s David Alvarado, had been convicted of driving under the influence in 1997, 2005, 2006, 2021, and twice in 2019 – adding up to six convictions in total.
