On South Jackson Street near Snow Mountain Way, officers found two cars had struck each other at approximately 1:30 PM.
A Ford Escape headed south on South Jackson Street and then, for reasons currently known, it drifted into South Jackson Street north. There, it struck a Honda SUV going north. The Honda driver was pronounced dead and the Ford driver is in stable condition.
The Red Bluff Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to help both drivers to move out of their cars. The investigation is ongoing.
