STOCKTON, Calif – According to ABC10, early Friday morning shortly before 5 AM, a semi-truck struck and killed a pedestrian while heading southbound on Highway 99.
According to the CHP/California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian walked in the road when they were struck by a 2015 Peterbilt big rig at roughly 50 mph. The truck was towing a trailer. The semi-truck driver suffered no injuries. The road closed shortly before re-opening.
A preliminary CHP investigation found that the driver was not under the influence while it is unknown if the pedestrian was.
