Alcohol, Speed Suspected in Crash That Killed Driver in El Dorado County, CHP Says

EL DORADO COUNTY – As reported by CBS Sacramento, a tragic accident near Placerville on Thursday night resulted in the death of a driver. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) suspects that alcohol and speed contributed to the incident. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. in the vicinity of Country Club Drive near Los Santos Drive. Authorities reported that a 2017 Ford truck veered off the roadway and crashed into trees situated in the front yard of a home.

 

The driver, a man in his 30s, was not wearing his seat belt. Therefore, he got ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger, also a man in his 30s, was wearing a seat belt and emerged uninjured from the crash.

 

The identity of the deceased driver has not yet been released.
