MODESTO, Calif. – According to the CHP, a Mini Cooper hit construction equipment on the left shoulder of the I-5 Thursday morning, leading to significant injuries. Shortly after 10:30 AM, the white Mini Cooper veered off the road, for unknown reasons, and hit the construction equipment. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was at high speeds when it struck the equipment.
The vehicle rolled over upon impact. According to the police reports, “both parties in the vehicle (were) not very responsible – one party with blue lips.” They went on to say that the airbag had been deployed. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time but the investigation is ongoing.
