OROVILLE, CA – According to KRCR, on 6/4, two people were killed in an accident on Highway 70 in Oroville.

CHP California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to a reported two-vehicle crash on Feather River Bridge around 10 AM.

In the wake of a preliminary investigation, the CHP has come to believe that a white Volskwagen with two people inside came to a stop on the bridge for reasons unknown. Simultaneously, a red Ram pickup driven by Elijah Kinser, traveled north on Highway 70 at a state legal speed of 65 MPH. The CHP states Kinser did not realize the Volksagen had stopped and thus could not avoid a crash within which the Volkswagen driver suffered fatal injuries. The passenger, although initially transported to a local hospital in critical condition, also succumbed to their injuries.
