According to the California Highway Patrol/CHP, on June 9th at approximately 6:40 PM, a gray Volkswagen sedan was heading north on the section of Highway 113 that’s south of Leisure Road.
A black Mercedes sedan was headed southbound on Highway 113 in the same area when the Volkswagen entered the southbound lane. The Mercedes turned to the right to avoid crashing as the Volkswagen swerved to the left, causing a head-on collision.
The 19-year-old died from injuries resulting from the crash, while the 37-year-old driver of the Mercedes broke both legs. No vehicle had any passengers.
Neither drugs or alcohol are believed to be involved with the accident.
