MOORPARK, Calif. – According to the CHP, a garbage truck was involved in an accident with two other vehicles. The garbage truck caught fire and parties involved sustained injuries. Shortly after 10:30 AM this morning, in the area of Avenida De Los Arboles and SR-23 North, a waste management truck was involved in an accident with a work truck and a pickup truck.
The impact caused the garbage truck to turn over on its side. The parties inside got out of the truck but it did sustain damage. The garbage truck became “fully engulfed” in flames, according to the police report. This led to a brush fire. This blocked traffic in multiple lanes.
At least one of the parties involved sustained injuries requiring hospitalization. The investigation is ongoing.
