B0RBANK, Calif – According to KTLA 5, a man died in a Burbank two-car accident. Both vehicles were, according to authorities, speeding. At the intersection of Hollywood Way and Vanowen Street, at around 11:15 PM, two vehicles collided headed east on Vanowen shortly before Hollywood Way.
The two vehicles involved were a white Scion and a Toyota Corolla.
On account of the crash, both vehicles struck a utility pole and then a fire hydrant. The pole fell and one of the vehicles knocked over the hydrant.
The driver of the white Scion was ejected and then pronounced dead at the scene. Video shows that the driver was pinned under the damaged Scion.
The Toyota Corolla driver sustained moderate injuries. As of this writing, speed is considered a factor in the case but authorities are unsure yet if alcohol and/or drugs were involved.
