According to NBC 7 San Diego, the accident occurred around 1:45 a.m. At the intersection of Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street. A Honda Accord collided with a police SUV that was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on.
The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old woman, suffered a fractured femur, and her passenger, a 25-year-old woman, sustained an orbital fracture. Thankfully, the two police officers in the SUV only had minor injuries.
Investigators suspect impairment in the Honda driver, but they are continuing their investigation. This is a reminder that we all need to be responsible drivers and never get behind the wheel if we are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
