An investigation found that a GMC Yukon driver, heading south on Highway 41, lost control of his vehicle in the rain. Overcorrecting while trying to regain control of his vehicle, his car turned into the northbound lane sideways.
The right side of the Yukon was hit by a man driving a Chevy Silverado heading north on 41. Consequently, a woman driving a Buick south on 41 could not avoid striking the Silverado. As a result of this collision, an 11-year-old girl died inside the GMC Yukon.
